Surge Receptacle
Surge Protectors?
I only have 2 wire receptacles in my house. All the surge protectors I have found are three prong (with a ground). If I use the surge protector without the 3rd wire ground will it still be effective
I doubt that you have any ground on that outlet (screw or otherwise). Surge protectors shunt to ground, so no, no help with that.
However, you could put a hole-house protector in at the service panel. These aren't as effective, b/c you house wiring is a nice antenna for transforming lightening fields into surges on your lines.
