How do I combine two solar panels ( power output )?
Hello, this is probably a very simple question but how would I go about merging the power from two solar panels? I know in electonics ( batteries ) they merge them by putting one positive side to one negative side, would that also be the method I take for solar panels?

No there not identical, 5watt and 60watt ( both 12v ) I was mostly asking for future knowledge, nothing big just stuff to learn with, I have the 5watt one charging a 12volt battery with a charge controller connected. I'm not as dumb as I probably sound I know a little, just never really did anything with series.
They are very different in size, so it makes no sense to connect them in series (where they share a single common current), positive of one connected to negative of the other, with the two remaining terminals being the output, in an attempt to double the output voltage. The smaller panel would just limit the current the larger panel could deliver.
But since they are both 12 volt panels, you can connect them in parallel (positive of one to positive of the other and negative of one to negative of the other). The output will still be 12 volts, but the total output current will be the sum of the currents of the two panels. In effect, you are just increasing the area of the cells.
