How can I decorate in a purple and green scheme without being too childish?
Alright, I am a college student living in a campus-affiliated apartment (therefore my own room- yay!). Anyway, I just moved into this apartment and I want the colors to be light green and purple. I have a nice green bed spread, and I'm thinking about purple sheets (for now I have basic green ones). I have purple throw pillows, and a green throw blanket. I have a few purple and green picture frames, a green organizer, a green trash can, green and purple vases/flowers, and that's about it with the colors. I have a ton of posters for my walls. (Not color-schemed, just photography posters I enjoy.) I do not want to paint because I'd just have to paint it back to white when I move. Any ideas on how to bring in more of the purple and green scheme without being too childish? I have an old white dresser that I am thinking about adding some purple and green designs to. Other ideas? I don't really have room to nicely place an area rug
It sounds like a good balance so far. The only thing you might want to add would be something done in a green/purple/white fabric which ties all your elements together. You could try a couple of extra throw pillows or a couple of oversized floor pillows, or some some pillow shams which you took off at night.
