I need to kill a rat in my attic whats the best weapon to use?
I have plenty of stuff; an axe, a power saw, shovel, pick-axe, butcher knife, cleaver. Or is there a better way?
Those things are useless against this wily foe. Poison is the only way. You may catch one or two in a trap, but it's numerous friends and family members will see and remind each other about traps, and they will no longer work. Since it's in the attic, I don't think there is much chance of a pet or child coming in contact with the poison. If there is any chance, put the poison where these two beloved types of creatures will NOT get to it. But when placing the poison, it's best to put it along a runway you know the rat uses in it's life. The smell, when he dies, will be sickening. You can try to find the body to dispose of it, but I've not had much luck with that part. The good news is poison will kill rodents and you won't see them again.
