What you have to go through when getting married to US citizen?
Let me put it this way: A friend of mine is illegal in the states. He came legally in the states, he has social security number, and either illegal he pays taxes. He wants to get married to his girlfriend but they don't live together. I know they need to have the same address, the need to fill in a questionnaire and some examination period. What is the questionnaire like, how long is the examination period, and how long takes and what through until getting a US green card?
Why don't they live together? If this is because of religious reasons then they should move in after they get married.
Getting a green card will be automatic upon marriage.
Yes of course there is an examination and questionnaire, they have to prove this is a legitimate marriage not some way to make illegal aliens legal. Be prepared for your 'friend' to answer some very deep questions.
