Can you give me some tips on frugal living?

I'm looking for ways to cut my monthly outgoings as my wife and I have the baby now and I'm starting to realise we don't have as much free cash as we used to. As some examples do you think I should start buying supermarket own brand products? get rid of cable? etc etc anything you can suggest is greatly appreciated. My baby will not go without incase people are thinking that what I mean is I want to cut costs for my wife and I.
Some of you good people have been so helpful I really want to thank you from the bottom of my heart.

stock up on items you usually use whenever they go on sale and have a long shelf life. shop at thrift stores more often. try the no name brands, they tend to taste the same as the name brands. go online to comparison shop for groceries, you can also find some sites that have coupons you can print out and use in stores. when something in the grocery store has something you really like on a very good sale price try to go in when they are out of stock of it and get a rain check for it, most grocery store rain checks dont have a quantity limit on them so you can stock up on the grocery item using the rain check even when the item isnt on sale. instead of buying clothes from the nearest department store go to that store's outlet location, prices are usually dramatically slashed. instead of buying new books go to a used bookstore or buy a used copy of the book online (even with shipping you will save money rather than buying the book used), you can also just get the book from the library for free, most libraries have a loan system set up with many other libraries so if they dont have it you can request that they borrow it from another library system.

i hope that you can cut living costs for you and your wife.
