How to control spending?
Okay, I love to shop... I really love to shop on-line. It makes me feel better when things are rough and I am really wanting to live more frugal... but how can I start controlling myself?
Open a second account, and move your money into an account which you cannot spend from (without transferring) ie no card you can use online/shops.
Then once a week (or month) if you prefer, allow yourself some "spending money" and set an automated transfer in your "spending" account.
There are various setups for this... but basically it comes down to splitting your money into 2 (or more) accounts.
Saving/controlling spending requires discipline , without it your wasting your time.
If you have no discipline, consider asking someone you trust to manage the transfers for you. I can't stress enough how import it is that you trust that person though. (your bank wont endorse this method, and it will be considered your problem if they "steal" your money.
