Frugal Living Groceries

How can I be frugal and maintain my lifestyle?
I feel quite guilty due to my overspending. I've always tried to live an extravagant lifestyle. I'm an excessive spender and I love wearing brand names.
When I go out with friends, I love spending a lot (besides, most of my friends have money, and I'm always trying to show that I'm just like them). I hate looking cheap. My lifestyle is quite active, and as a salsa dancer, I often go to salsa clubs and end up buying at least one drink. I find that the money spent adds up.
Even when it comes to grocery shopping, we're only 2 people in the house, yet I find myself spending so much on groceries when I know I could save.
What can I do to live a frugal lifestyle and keep my active lifestyle, and at the same time, look good among financially comfortable friends?
(By the way, I do most of my spending on my credit card, so that's where I got the cash.)
The other answer listed here are valid. You need to stop keeping up with others in your life and start being a bit more responsible with your money. Don’t eat out, just eat before you go out and keep a candy bar with you or something.. Also pick two days a week that you spend zero dollars. You have to figure out how to make that work, but do it.
That said, here are some ideas to cut cost:
Instead of buying drinks at clubs, get a little flask and only buy the soda and add your own booze. I do this at restaurants can really save you $$.
Always Cut coupons and use them!!! It's a pain in the butt, but once you get in the habit you'll see the savings start adding up.
Also search online for printable coupons and free samples. I have gotten free samples of shampoo, condoms, deodorant, breakfast cerial, and soaps. Be sure you have a crappy email address to list as a lot of those sites want your email address before they mail you free stuff.
Look for items in your home that can be substituted with something cheaper. Try downgrading toilet paper for example. Or get a big jug of cheap hand soap and us it to fill your fancy hand soap bottle so no one ever knows..
Also, if you have cable TV, consider downgrading the package or switching to Netflix. I just did this and my bill w ent from $60/month to $8.99. Netflix offers to mail you one DVD at a time and unlimited movie downloads for 8.99 a month….I can handle this because Netflix has seasons of tv shows I watch.
If you have a neighbor, try to split the TV, phone, internet service with them. I did this years ago and was paying $12/mo for TV, cable and phone. Send an email to my profile if you want more info on how to do that…
Recycling deposits – If you state recycles beer bottles & soda cans, then spend the time taking your in. It adds up.
Last but not least – auto insurance. If you have any insurance company other then Geico, call Geico and get a quote. They will save you money. I do this but I never switch. I get the quote and then call my insurance company and tell them I got a better quote form Geico. I then ask them to match it. They have matched it twice now…(and no, I do not work for Geico!)
Good Luck!
