What should i do??? Great job and im not frugal with money?

Ok, i am 18 years old and live on the east coast down south. I have recently just got a warehouse job that pays 14.00hr after being miserably unemployed for the past 2 months...( i was so happy i cried after the interview) i am also a full time student with full scholarship to a community college.( so that is not an expense to me) i dont have a car and was planning on saving 3500 by Feb. In Feb i get a check for 2500. With this money i was planning on putting a down payment on a used car, What do u think i can afford for a car????? and im trying to build credit because i have none but my parents are cosigning for me.,( good credit) is this a good idea?

Put the money in a savings account. When you get your check, add that to it. If you want to buy a car, look for something in the $4000-$5000 range.

Instead of getting a car loan, get a loan from the bank using your savings account as security. This will establish the credit history you want, and will cost you less than a conventional car loan.

The bank is guaranteed to make that loan, they have the cash in your account as security. In effect, you will be borrowing from yourself, but building a credit history.

Good luck, it seems that you are on the right path!
