Cost of living in Berlin?
I am an American in my 20's considering moving to Berlin for a 2 year contract. I will be paid in euros, and am trying to figure out my cost of living, although I will state it now in dollars. I will be living in the Mitte area, with apartment cost covered. I was wondering how comfortably I could live on $17,000 for an entire 12 month year in Berlin. This would mainly include food, gym (I need a nice gym), and entertainment/money for weekend. I make most food at home and eat out about twice a week in a moderately priced restaurant. I go out to a bar about once a week but do not buy more than 2 drinks. I think I am a generally frugal person, but was wondering if I would have to struggle with $17,000 for a year after apartment costs. If you don't think this would be enough, please tell me how much you think would. Thanks so much.
I agree with Petra calculate 1200 to 1500 € per month
@ Brian very obviously you have no idea of Germany nor any other place in Europe Nowhere is Europe it is cheap compared to the US it is very expensive!
