How has technology influenced us on helping the environment? How/why has it changed us to be more ecofriendly?

Technology helped us to realize the negative changes in the environment due to human activity.

Some animals have become extinct, and many endangered. The American Bald eagle is one of these endangered species. We use to use pesticides, which had DDT in it and ever since we started using that the Bald eagles became less and less. Researchers examined what was causing their depletion and found that the DDT was softening their eggs, breaking down the outer shell. when the use of DDT was discontinued, The Bald Eagles started to flourish once again.

GPS uses satellites to find locations in many parts of the world and also assist Geologists in their research in surveying land masses etc. When we see forests depleting and deserts growing there is a problem. Temperature sensitive equipment also helped use to realize that the global temperature is rising and the climate is changing. Oceans are going out of wack because the air temperatures began effecting the currents and this also, in turn effects the aquatic life.
