If I have a remote controlled overhead light, and you can change the % of light, does less light=small bill?
ex. If 100% was $x per month, would 70% or %60 make the electric bill less if I consistently kept my light at this.
You can actually purchase wattage meters from hardware stores for sockets or outlet interfaces which would let you measure the exact current draw of various appliances in the home. If it is an incandescent lamp, lowering the brightness will certainly lower the current draw, however if it is a florescent lamp, they use high voltage transformers and ballasts and pull negligible current anyways (usually 15W or so for your avg in home light), and while I'm not sure, I have heard running florescent on a dimmer can damage the ballast.
