What my option for main disconnect: Four 100 amp service main disconnect panels or just one 400 amp panel?
What my option for main disconnect: Four 100 amp service main disconnect panels or just one 400 amp panel?
Planning increasing from 200 amp main service to 400 amps. Installing FOUR electric miters with 100 amps each. So I will have 4 100 amp cables coming to the house. I need to have four main disconnect breakers (and second one in the panel) WHATS MY OPTIONS: I rather have one big box that has four separate breaks the four little panels. Home depot has little ones but not big one. Do you have any suggestion or see any trouble I will run in to with THE CODE?
P.S. I’m not doing it myself, just buying supplies.
Code and common sense require one service feeder per structure.
You install one main disconnect and then feed as many meters as
the utility will grant you., (generally one per tenant.).
You can easily get a four meter load center as one unit.
This project should be done by a licensed electrician who will
'sort you out'. Listen to him.
